The price of redemption II - God's Word for Today

Who has believed our report? And to whom is the arm of the Lord? For it grew up as a tender plant before him, and as a root out of dry ground; He had no form nor comeliness; and when we see him, no beauty we saw, that we should desire. He was despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief; and as one from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows; and we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; but the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all. He was oppressed and afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth; as a lamb that is led to the slaughter, and as a sheep that is silent before its shearers, so he opened not his mouth. By oppression and judgment he was taken away; and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living, stricken for the transgression of my people? And they made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death, although he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth. However, it was the Lord's will to crush him, making him ill; when he put an offering for sin, he shall see his offspring and prolong his days, and the will of the Lord shall prosper in his hand. He shall see of the travail of his soul and be satisfied; by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many, and their iniquities shall bear upon him. Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and with the strong He shall divide the spoil; because he poured out his soul to death, and was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors. – Isaiah 53

Our Lord Jesus, the only son of our God, came into the world to show the Creator's love for the human being. Many heard the Word proclaimed by him in the name of Almighty God. Blessed are the children of God who heard. Blessed are the children of God who accepted, and practiced the Good News that the Lord of Love announced. To these, Father God gave them the power to be called Sons of God.

The price which the Father paid for the redemption of each of us was very high and very precious. The Most High, in a gesture of pure love sent his dear Son that He would make an unbeatable value offer to pay for our sins and give us salvation and eternal life. After proclaiming and showing people the love and presence of God in our midst He, the God man, was rejected, humiliated, beaten, wounded and completely crushed for our sins, selfishness, envy, violence, cruelty and all kinds of infidelity and wickedness.

We, your children, instead of giving heed to him and to God's commandments would rather listen to the men and their philosophies and doctrines. Thus, we follow a path contrary to those who were guided by our God. Still, it was the Lord Jesus who was taking upon himself all our transgressions and our sins. It was he who was receiving the body of Him to our lashes, our crown of thorn, our curses and our painful and humiliating death. Yes! Jesus was there taking my and your place. It was God himself who was there showing his immense love for us. He carried that heavy tree all our iniquities, trespasses and sins.

On that day, on that terrible cross, our beloved Lord Jesus, through his loving sacrifice, took our vices, impurities, harlots, selfishness, pornography, theft, illness, disease, dishonesty, lying, sexual immorality, wickedness, injustice, crimes, jealousy, envy, greed, corruption, greed, and all that away from God. That humiliating death was the beginning of a new life. A winning and successful life in which the Lord Jesus, through his supernatural and powerful resurrection, took captives and humiliating all sin, death, and the father's death: the devil.

Through this glorious triumph, our Lord Jesus gave us a new life. A life of freedom and power. Through the death of the Lord Jesus we come back to live. He gave us a new life, full and abundant. However, this abundant life can only be experienced by each of us when we get into close contact with truth, wisdom and sublime love of our Lord Jesus Christ.

I am the resurrection and the life; he that believeth in me, though he die, yet shall he live. – John 11:25

Now it's our turn. Let's do our part. Let us leave aside all that which takes our Lord Jesus again to the terrible cross. When we sin we are putting back on the wounded shoulders of our loving Lord Jesus more weight, more pain and suffering. Jesus has made impressive part of Him. Now it's our turn. Let's stay away from sin. We will develop our faith and perseverance so that we can always, in holiness, go straight ahead in our journey toward eternal life next to the Holy Trinity. The Father, the Holy Spirit and the Lord Jesus, all honor and glory praise, today and forever. Amen!

A big hug and be with God.
