Lesson 1 – What is faith?

Faith is a very common natural feeling in man. We can find various types of expressions of faith. We can say that faith is the ability of the human being has to believe in something with all his strength and his heart. There are people who believe in God, gods, the forces of nature, the trees, the sun, the moon, the energy of the planet, in amulets, symbols, philosophies, in luck, energy, the forces of evil, in higher intelligence, in any religion, in ideas, in philosophy, in a club or sports team, at some religious leader in pictures of people, associations, in any sport, solidarity, brotherhood, charity and there are also people who believe Only in themselves.

Faith is this ability that man has to put his trust and hope in something. This is the natural faith of man. He believes in something he considers to be bigger or stronger than him. This increased strength is mostly outside the person is out of its limited capacity and weak. Faith can take several forms: among the most common are the personal faith, the mystical faith and religious faith.

Personal faith

Personal faith is one where the person only believe in their own strengths, qualities or abilities. Usually the person is encouraged to look within themselves the inner strength to conquer, change or overcome certain situations or difficulties of life. Too often the person who does this kind of faith think or hear words of encouragement and motivation as: yes, you can! Trust you! The power is within you! You are stronger than the problems! You have the power! To appreciate! Believe in you! You will get there! … And so it goes.

The mystical faith

The main characteristic of this kind of faith is using images, text, philosophy, symbols and other objects. In this kind of faith is very common the use of amulets. Amulets are objects of various shapes that judge the people who own them, show some kind of supernatural force or magical power. We can cite as examples: clover four-leaf (symbol of fortune and luck), the rabbit's foot (symbol of luck), the Greek eye (used to attract luck and avoid jealousy), the horseshoe (used for attract luck and prevent the forces of evil), fig (protection and against envy), mirrors (away bad luck), Elephant image (attract wealth and prosperity), Buddha image (love and peace symbol), image fish (symbol of wealth, abundance and fertility), star of David (symbol of protection and deliverance from evil), pigeon image (symbol of peace and harmony), sapo image (fortune symbol), owl image ( symbol of wisdom) and more.

Religious faith

Religious faith is one that is based on some philosophy or religious principle. There are people who believe in Jesus Christ (Christianity) in Buddha (Buddhism) in Muhammad (Islam) … and so will you! The greatest feature of this kind of faith is to believe with all my heart that the person, philosophy or sacred entity has the strength and the power to transform, heal, restore, sanctify, to forgive, to bring peace, happiness, lifting or spiritual enlightenment, salvation or eternal life.

Do not miss: In the next lesson we will explore more intensively faith that interests us. The faith that can truly change our lives: religious faith. We see that besides the natural faith there is also a supernatural faith. We will learn how each works and how we can use them to change our lives. I'll see you there.
